There is one method that does however send long term consistent traffic everyday. Read more about this here.
Anyway – you can check that out after you have read this list…..so here we go.

Traffic Idea 1 – Groups
Post in Yahoo and Google Groups with a link to your site in your signature. You can do this to any forum really. Just go to a forum in your niche and see how active it is.
If there are lots of people participating in the forum, then chances are you have an opportunity to get lots of traffic. Add your website link to your signature – and participate in the forum – and BANG….you will get visitors.
Remember – what you say in your link makes a big difference. You have a small opportunity to get people to click your link – use it wisely.
If you simply say ‘Please visit my site’ do you think that is going to be effective? Hardly…..
You need to attract attention – Maybe something like - ‘Got Money Problems – We Can Fix It Guranteed – You MUST visit Our Site’
What you say and how you say it is the key to attracting eyes – and lots of them.
Traffic Idea 2 – eBay
Sell or place classified ads on eBay with a link to your site. This is just one way of getting traffic from eBay.
Another is – have you heard about eBay blogs? EBay gets a ton of traffic. You need to make use of this.
Go and set up a blog there and add some quality information. OK, the rules are strict so you will have to be careful what you post and what links you include, but if you obey the rules, you can get some instant traffic.
In fact – I set up a blog and got 80 visitors the first day to the eBay blog. OK, they didn’t all then visit my links, but some did and the others were interested in what I had to say.
Traffic Idea 3 – PPC
Use PPC search engine advertising. Hope you have a big fat wallet for this one. This is a dangerous hobby, one that could make your credit card instantly combust.
However, do it right and you will get lots of traffic – cheap. The key here is to make sure your landing page is 100% relevant to the ad you are linking to.
Have a seperate landing page for each add and you will see your Cost Per Click reduce. Combine this with Google’s conversion code and you can see exactly where you sales are coming from.
Remember, Google loves relevance, so think about all the ways you can make yours ads relevant to your landing page and your costs should reduce dramatically.
Traffic Idea 4 – Niche
Submit your site to any related niche directories on the net. OK, this isn’t terribly lightning fast – however, it does works. For example, I submitted one of my sites to the ‘Ask’ search engine. The next day I noticed hits.
The key is to find those search engines that are good quality, free and actually work.
Some charge you to submit your site – my opinion, you are getting ripped off. Don’t waste your cash, spend it on your dog or cat instead. They will appreciate it more.
Traffic Idea 5 – Take Advantage
Purchase the misspellings or variations of your domain name, or those of your competitors. This is a great idea. However, it will cost you a bit. You need to make sure you can recoup your domain expenses.
However, if there is a site that is hugely popular, then you are certainly going to pick up some stray traffic.
Remember, getting traffic is a numbers game – it’s all about adding up all those small hits from lots of places across the web.
Often if you mis-type a popular domain into the url bar and hit enter, one of those dodgy MFA (Made For Adsense) sites comes up.
I can’t tell you the number of times this has happened to me. So, take a leaf out of their book, buy mis-spelled domains and redirect to your site – EASY !
Traffic Idea 6 – Buy Old Domains
Buy a Domain name related to your niche that is already receiving traffic and forward it to your site.
These can be hard to find.
Also, some of the traffic statistics given with domains that are for sale are FAKE. Yes – the big fakers are potentially scamming you out of your hard earned cash.
It’s easy to fake traffic to a site. You can simply buy traffic – Cost Per View traffic for pennies. This creates FAKE traffic statistics and before you know it – you have been scammed.
Do your research. A great tool is to put the domain you are considering buying in your Google Webmaster tools. It will tell you all the gossip about the domain – and you need that gossip to see if it has been a bad domain or not.
Also – you can use the Way Back Machine or Tool or whatever it’s called – can’t remember at the moment. But it will tell you what the history of the domain has been.
Traffic Idea 7 – Ads
Purchase Ads on other sites. This works. Approach other blog owners and say you want to buy some advertising links.
Obviously, some owners are going to charge an ‘arm and a leg’ – no names here….. If you don’t want to lose an arm and a leg – then find blog owners that have smaller traffic numbers but still have traffic.
They are likely to be in your budget.
Traffic Idea 8 – PPC
PPC (Pay Per Click) advertising is ideal if you want to drive traffic to your site very quickly and don’t mind paying for it. This is idea number 3 – sorry – have to think of another one.
Traffic Idea 9 – Forum Advertising
Many forums have a place for you to advertise your site once – find them and do it. Forums also have other places to put your links.
Instantly, you will now how much traffic a forum gets by the number of people using it. Target the most popular forums.
You can create a blog in a number of forums. This is worthwhile as people do read the blogs.
Yes, more original content will need to be written, but hey, what else are you doing? You want results don’t you? So put some effort in and stop been a cry baby……
Traffic Idea 10 – Submit Blog
Submit a blog to a blog directory. This is a great tool to get some heavy hitters. Also, if you participate in the blog directory community you get even more hits. There are tons of blog communities out there.
I’ll tell you a hidden secret on how to find them………Type – ‘Blog Directory’ into Google and they will pop up…..( ;
If you can’t find any doing that, try MyBlogLog or Blog Catalog – 2 of the best.
Traffic Idea 11 – Forum Signature
Have a signature link in forums that points to your site. This is the same as number 1. I have repeated myself again.
Traffic Idea 12 – Comment Backlink
Leave comments on other people’s blogs and link back to your site (tip: look in the digg upcoming section for blog posts about to get a lot of traffic).
This is a great tip. If you not doing this, slap yourself in the face. This works.
The key to unlock the massive website hits from blog comments is……write decent comments!
So many times you see comments like – Thanks, nice post. WHAT A WASTE OF EFFORT ! OK, I have done this too, however, this is really not worthwhile.
If you are going to make a comment, spend an extra 2 minutes writing a decent one. It will pay big time in the long term.
Traffic Idea 13 – Yahoo Answers
Answer questions on Yahoo Answers – quote your website as the source. Yes, Yahoo Answers does send a considerable amount of traffic.
However, you can get banned at the drop of a hat.
There is nothing worse than spendig hours and hours answering questions only to get banned 1 month later. ARRrrrrrgggghhh….!
Be careful.
Traffic Idea 14 – Buy a Review
Buy reviews about your site on other people’s site. Another good tip. Approach other blog owners, it is worth the effort.
Traffic Idea 15 – Site Map
Create a sitemap and submit it to Google. If you haven’t signed up to Google Webmaster Tools in your Account, then do it. This is FREE and gives you tons of information about your site.
Use the Submit A Site Map Tool to submit your site map. This tells the Big G all about your site and identifies any problems it may have.
The best thing for organic traffic is making sure the Big G loves eating your site. If there are errors – it ain’t gonna like it.
OK, so there are a ton of easy ideas to get you more website hits. However, if you want you business to be successful online, you are going to need a lot more than a few hits.
You need to put some effort into getting traffic. If you keep doing what you are currently doing, your results are just going to be the same – Horrible !
So, if you want more hits – targeted hits that actually convert to money then you MUST check this out.
Oi – Don’t leave without commenting……Got Something to say? We want to hear it. Participate in this blog and add a link back to your site. Remember, Idea# 12 – Comment on Other people’s blogs…..

Interesting and informative post.
I was looking out for a company that could provide customized and affordable SEO services and with whom I could touchbase on a daily basis. I was very impressed with the professionalism and quick response time of Seo Traffic Spider and hired their full time SEO services. Its interesting that they not only offer a customized optimization plan but also provide a superb discount on their SEO combinations.
I think this would be a helpful start for anyone looking out for highly professional seo services and who prioritize quick customer response time and chat availability. You can surely get it all here.

Tammy, I checked out your site – looks good.
If you are trying to get email subscribers using a site – you really need to have a landing page with only the sign up box displayed and an offer that is too good to refuse. Otherwise people simply won’t sign up.
I beleive a blog is different though. Having a signup box on a blog is ok as you should be getting repeat traffic.
So for your website I would suggest a landing page as your home page with a really good FREE offer.
This might not work with your current page – so it might mean adding another website and attracting people to it instead first and then promoting your other website through the leads you get.
If you want to discuss it further – please contact me via my contact page above.
Cheers
Gerry

If you need more traffic you should promote it at places where small business owners and project managers may hang out. There could be a forum for this no doubt.

Thanks everyone for your comments.
A couple of the best things you can do to your blog/website is;
1. Get your own domain. This is essential. Nothing worse than going to a site and seeing it is tied up with a Google domain or similar. This is easy to do and costs are minimal.
2. Make your site look professional. OK – you may need to learn a bit of html. This is not really that hard and the benefits are huge. What’s more – there are millions of sites about html….at your fingertips.
3. Make yourself unique. Stand out from the crowd. This is the only way to attract attention – and in this world of competition, attention is what you need.
OK, that said, I will write some more posts shortly on how to get better conversions.
You don’t really need a lot of traffic to make money – you just need a good conversion rate.
Thanks for all the comments – keep them coming and remember to post your site link so we can view your site.
Link back to this post if you can as well.
Regards
Gerry.
