Free Website Hits – Two Ideas Your Big Sister Never Told You

Written By: Gerry on August 18, 2009 18 Comments

Looking for ideas on how to improve your free website hits? Here are two methods your big sister never told you about. What does this have to do with your big sister you ask?

Absolutely nothing.

It was just a weird headline to try and get your attention. That is the first tip in trying to get more free website hits. Write good attention grabbing headlines. This can dramatically improve your visitor numbers.

Every time you add content to your blog, make sure you spend some time thinking about the headline. How can you make it attractive? Then think about the keywords you are targeting and combine this into your headline. Here is an example.

Imagine your blog post or website page is about monkey and eating bananas. It is about how much monkeys love bananas. Which headline is better?

Monkeys Love Bananas.

Or

Monkey Eats Banana and Explodes – Why Bananas Are So Delicious.

OK, this is an extreme example, but it shows you the importance of grabbing a person’s attention at the early stages of your content. Apply this every time you write content or make a blog post and you should improve your traffic numbers.

Another good way to get traffic is participate in your niche. This means joining forums and blogs and having a signature in your profile or blog comment that points back to your site. This is usually free and easy to implement. Yes, you need to spend a bit of time participating, but the traffic you receive will be highly targeted and it is likely to convert.

    Hi Virtual Family,

Glad you got something out of it.

The heading of your article is a very important piece of the content. In fact, you only have a few seconds to grab a person’s attention.

If you want higher readership – you must concentrate on writing excellent headings!

    Cheers,

    Gerry

Getting traffic to a blog isn’t easy huh? I remember when I first started. lol I was really BAD! I spent hundreds buying fake traffic from scammers at DP. I tried email scams (where I was scammed, of course). I even hired an Indian seo guru. lolol I’m still learning the art of blog/site traffic, but Jesus I’ve come a long ways. So can you share any secrets on how you increaded your readership? I just posted something about rapid mass traffic (cheap, targeted traffic) that you may want to check out when you can here. Mind me asking how many daily visitors you’re up to man?

I’ve been scratching my living online since 2003. I remember the first sites I made, and when I made my first dollar. lol I was excited!!! I’ve recently found a new way to get tons of buyers to my sites for almost free. I use these cheap visitors to sell Amazon goods to and am banking really well with it. Read about it here if you want to at my site. It helped me go from $100 a day on a few sites to a net of $300++ pretty easy.

Additionally, I am wondering whether your weblog is open for link exchange, as I really need to change links with you. I don’t usually do that, however I hope that we can have a mutual link exchange. Let me know and have an excellent day!
